Writer Scott Synder states that Dark Nights: Metal has the most relevance and, therefore, in his eyes this is the first appearance. However, markets have settled on the idea that this issue includes the ‘first appearance’, hence a higher resale value. This is in part due to the Dark Nights issues being a higher-print run. Both issues were released on the same day.
